The new exhibition
The exhibition is called "ATHENS INTERNATIONAL 2009: Defense-Security-Technology in SE Europe and the Middle East" and will take place at the facilities of the "Athens International Airport - Eleftherios Venizelos". It is the first time that an exhibition will take place at "El. Venizelos" using its state-of-the-art infrastructure, ensuring easy access, allowing the landing and takeoff of airplanes and helicopters, a static aircraft display and the presentation of equipment for the land forces, homeland security services and civil aviation.Concurrently with the exhibition, on May 21-24th 2009, "Expansion" will organize conferences and workshops focusing on business intelligence issues, NATO’s new strategic goals, arms control and non-proliferation, security and stability in the SE Mediterranean and the global war against terrorism. "ATHENS INTERNATIONAL 2009" is also in position to host and support meetings among foreign governmental delegations and defense companies at the premises of the exhibition.Starting in 2009 and every two years, the organizer's plan is to use the new "Exhibition & Conference Center" of "El. Venizelos" (now at the early stages of construction) as the permanent base of "ATHENS INTERNATIONAL". The "Exhibition & Conference Center" will be the biggest in Southeastern Europe with an indoor area of 50.000 sq.m. and outdoor space of 90.000 sq.m.
